Help us celebrate Raccoon Tune, winner of the Michigan Reads! One State, One Children’s Book program. Enjoy stories, crafts, music and games.
Registration begins 8/29. Ages 2-5.

Monday, October 27, 5:30-6:30pm (Room A/B) - Do you enjoy stories of mystery and intrigue? Do you like stories that send a shiver up your spine? Explore the strange, mysterious and unexplained with storyteller Jenifer Strauss. Free ticket required for entrance. Ages 9 up.

Adult Book Discussion
Mondays, September 15, October 20 & November 17; 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm (Conference Room) - Led by library staff, the BDL book discussion group welcomes everyone and does not require registration for its meetings. Extra copies of discussion titles are available at the library a month before the meetings; additional copies can be obtained through the catalog system. The book Prodigal Summer, by Barbara Kingsolver, will be discussed at the September meeting.

Book Talk: Miss Junk Food
Wednesday, Sept 24, 7:30-8:30pm (Room A/B) - Local author Angel Pyle describes how she went from a junk food junkie to an "Angel of Fitness". Drop in.

Genealogy After Hours

People Who Knit - Monday, September 8, 2008; 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm (Conference Room) - Learn to knit or crochet, or share your skills. Make 4” squares to create a blanket for Project Linus as a service project. Bring your own supplies or use ours! Drop in. Adults and teens welcome.

YA.PA.MA. Book Club - Monday, September 8, 2008; 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm (Room A/B) - A fun new book discussion group for teens and their parents (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.). Bring your dinner and we'll supply the dessert. Register at the information desk or by calling 810.229.6571 x227. We will choose our eight books during the first meeting.

Art at the Library is a juried series of two and three-dimensional art exhibitions. Artists must be adult residents of the state of Michigan. The Series is a collaborative endeavor between the Brighton Art Guild and the Friends of the Brighton District Library.
