Available on Download Destination:

WMA Audiobooks: These can be listened to on your computer, burned to CD, or transferred to a portable device that is compatible with DRM. A list of compatible devices can be found here.

MP3 Audiobooks: These can be listened to on your computer, burned to CD, or transferred to any mp3 device, including iPods!

eBooks: These are electronic PDF editions of print books that can be read on your computer, PDA, or other reading device. Ebooks are viewed with Adobe Reader or Adobe Digital Editions software.

Music: WMA files of music from a variety of genres can be listened to on your computer, or transferred to a portable device that is compatible with DRM. A list of compatible devices can be found here.

How to use Download Destination:

Browse the collection for the titles that suit your interests. Add the titles you want to check out to your cart. Some items are unavailable when checked out, and you can place a hold to get them when they become available. You may have up to 10 holds at a time. Other titles are always available for checkout. A wish list feature is available for items you might want to check out or place a hold on later.

Checkout: When you have made your selections, you proceed to checkout. You can have up to 5 items checked out at a time. There is no account to set up. Items are checked out using your Brighton District Library card number and PIN. If you don't know the PIN for your card, contact the Adult Information Desk (810-229-6571, ext 227.) Checkout periods are

Audiobooks (WMA or MP3):	14 days
eBooks:	21 days
Music:	7 days

Download: Checked out items are downloaded to your computer using the OverDrive Media Console, which you will need to install on your system. Specifications for PC and Mac are here. The larger audiobook files are broken into parts to make long downloads easier to manage. The Media Console is also used to burn files to a CD, or transfer to a portable device.
