ABOUT THE FRIENDS
The Friends of the Brighton District Library is a non-profit organization that supports the Library throughout the year. Funds from our used book sales, special events, and membership donations provide much-needed programming, equipment, and services at the Brighton District Library.
The Friends underwrite the cost of the Library’s newsletter, the Holiday Open House and Spring Fest events, and maintaining the Children’s Garden. We also fund the Summer Reading program and other special events, Live Homework Help for students in grades 4 -12, Teen Poetry Slams, the NextReads online reader advisory service, presentations by authors, historians and other speakers, and classes on topics ranging from one-stroke painting to computer spreadsheets. In addition, the Friends provide funding for special equipment such as digital cameras and software. Each year, thousands of people make use of Library services made possible by the activities of the Friends.
